Refresh Your Expression Without Losing What Makes It Yours

Botulinum toxin treatments temporarily reduce selected nerve signals to targeted muscles. When carefully planned, this can soften dynamic lines while maintaining a natural, expressive appearance.

“Botox” is often used as a general term, but BOTOX® Cosmetic is one brand within a broader family of prescription botulinum toxin products. Each product has its own formulation, dosing units, approved uses, and clinical characteristics. Product selection and availability are reviewed during consultation.

Common aesthetic goals

Precision Treatment by Facial Region

Every plan begins with facial movement, symmetry, muscle strength, skin quality, and your desired degree of movement—not a standard unit package.

Common neurotoxin treatment regions Stylized face showing forehead, frown lines, crow's feet, nose, lips, chin, jaw and neck regions. Forehead Frown lines Crow's feet Nose Lip area Chin / jaw Neck bands
01

Forehead Lines

Reduce the appearance of horizontal lines while balancing brow position and preserving appropriate movement.

02

Frown Lines

Soften the vertical “11” lines between the brows caused by repeated contraction of the glabellar muscles.

03

Crow’s Feet

Relax selected fibers around the outer eyes to soften smile lines while keeping the expression warm and natural.

04

Lower Face & Neck

Selected patients may consider treatment for chin dimpling, gummy smile, lip flip, jaw tension, or platysmal bands. Many of these uses are off-label.

The science beneath the surface

How Botulinum Neurotoxins Work

Expression lines develop partly because facial muscles repeatedly fold the overlying skin. Neurotoxins temporarily interrupt selected chemical signaling between nerves and muscles, allowing the treated muscle activity to decrease.

The effect is temporary. Exact onset, degree of movement reduction, and duration vary by product, dose, muscle strength, treatment area, metabolism, and individual response.

A common point of confusion

Neurotoxin Is Not the Same as Dermal Filler

These treatments address different aspects of facial aging and are not interchangeable.

Neurotoxin

Reduces selected muscle activity

Best suited to dynamic lines created by movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet.

Dermal filler

Adds or restores structural volume

May be used for volume loss, contour, deeper folds, or selected static lines. Product choice and risks differ.

Beyond aesthetics

Selected Therapeutic Applications

Botulinum toxin products also have medical uses. Whether a condition is appropriate for treatment depends on the diagnosis, product labeling, prior care, examination findings, and your overall health.

01

Chronic Migraine

FDA-approved protocols exist for qualifying adults with chronic migraine using specific products and injection patterns.

02

Excessive Sweating

May reduce nerve signaling to sweat glands in selected areas. Approved indications and insurance rules vary.

03

Muscle Overactivity

Selected dystonia, spasticity, or focal muscle-overactivity conditions may be treated using diagnosis-specific protocols.

04

Jaw Muscle Tension

Masseter treatment may be considered for selected jaw-muscle overactivity or clenching, but this application may be off-label.

Important: Cosmetic and therapeutic dosing are not interchangeable. A medical consultation is required before any therapeutic recommendation.

What to Expect at PrimeCell

1

Consultation & Movement Assessment

We review your medical history, medications, prior injectables, facial anatomy, symmetry, muscle strength, and desired outcome.

2

Personalized Mapping

Treatment points and dose are selected according to your movement pattern rather than a one-size-fits-all template.

3

Brief In-Office Treatment

A fine needle is used to place small amounts in targeted muscles. Most aesthetic sessions are completed within a short office visit.

4

Gradual Results & Follow-Up

Changes commonly begin over several days and continue to evolve. A follow-up may be recommended to assess balance and response.

Safety first

Who May—or May Not—Be a Candidate?

A consultation may be appropriate for adults seeking temporary improvement of dynamic facial lines or evaluation of a selected therapeutic concern. Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided depending on medical history and examination.

  • Active infection or inflammation at a planned injection site
  • Prior allergy or significant reaction to a botulinum toxin product
  • Pregnancy, plans for pregnancy, or breastfeeding
  • Neuromuscular disorders or conditions affecting swallowing or breathing
  • Medications or supplements that may increase bruising or interact with treatment
  • Recent neurotoxin treatment from another provider
Frequently asked questions

Botox & Neurotoxin Treatment

Will I look frozen?

The goal is not to eliminate every expression. Careful dosing and placement can soften selected movement while preserving a natural appearance. Your preferred degree of movement should be discussed before treatment.

When will I see results?

Many patients begin noticing changes within several days, while the full effect may take approximately one to two weeks. Timing varies by product, area, dose, and individual response.

How long do results last?

Aesthetic effects often last around three to four months, but duration varies. Some people experience a shorter or longer response depending on muscle strength, metabolism, dose, product, and treatment history.

Is there downtime?

Most patients return to normal daily activities after treatment. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, headache, or bruising may occur. Follow the individualized aftercare instructions provided by the clinic.

Are Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, Daxxify, and other products equivalent?

No. Their formulations and dosing units are not interchangeable. Availability, approved uses, onset, spread characteristics, and duration may differ. The recommended product depends on clinical assessment and treatment goals.

Can neurotoxins prevent wrinkles?

Reducing repetitive muscle movement may limit the repeated folding that contributes to dynamic lines, but treatment does not stop all aspects of skin aging. Sun protection, skin care, sleep, smoking status, genetics, and volume or structural changes also matter.

Can I combine neurotoxin with fillers, microneedling, or skin treatments?

Combination care may be appropriate, but sequencing depends on the treatments, anatomy, medical history, and goals. A plan should be created before scheduling multiple procedures.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing usually depends on the selected product, number of units, treatment areas, and clinical goals. A written treatment plan and anticipated cost should be reviewed before treatment.
